Salvation Army Angel Trees

The Salvation Army's Angel Tree provides Christmas presents, toys, and clothes to children in need, but now there's a new way to help... Kroger and the Salvation Army joined together by providing a Christmas dinner for a child's family. During the holiday season, Food Angels are made available from the Angel Tree at any area Kroger Store where people donate the cost of Christmas dinner for one Angel Tree child's family.

Crusade For Children

This annual fund raising event raises millions of dollars every year for handicapped children throughout the region. Kroger is one of the largest corporate donors each year. Kroger, through the help of literally tens of thousands of customer contributions, helps to provide the much-needed financial resources to keep this dream alive.

MDA Shamrocks

This is one of our favorite charity fund-raisers. We raise money for the Muscular Dystrophy Association every year, beginning in January thru March. Customers purchase a MDA Shamrock that is then signed, and proudly hung in the front of all of our stores.
MDA offers unparalleled medical and health services through its national network of 230 hospital-affiliated clinics including 25 MDA/ALS Centers. Services include diagnosis and follow-up care, summer camp, support groups. assistance with the purchase and repair of wheelchairs and leg braces, and more.

Second Harvest

Kroger is a proud sponsor and significant contributor to this national organization that helps to coordinate food distribution to the homeless and needy. To support our efforts to combat hunger, Kroger has partnered with key manufacturers to donate $4 million dollars ($3 million in cash / $1 million in food).
In addition, Kroger stores throughout the Mid South Division sell pre-packaged bags of food for the hungry year round.

Also, Mid South stores hold a fall food Drive (in some cities this is in coordination with the Boy Scout Drive), when bags for food are actually sent to homes and collected in drop boxes at our stores. We also participate with "Dare to Care", "God's Pantry", and other organizations.
