The main ingredient is imidacloprid, a topical solution that collects in the oils of the skin and in the hair follicles. Imidacloprid is not absorbed into the body and does not circulate through the bloodstream. It is spread around the body through the process of translocation. Advantage II for Cats also contains an insect growth regulator known as pyriproxyfen. Pyriproxyfen prevents eggs from hatching. These ingredients help control flea infestation by acting on insects' central nervous system.
