In 2000, Fred Schrader created Double Diamond as part of his continuing quest to make the best cabernet sauvignon that Napa Valley appellation can offer. This unique expression of the region carries on the tradition of earning critical acclaim and drawing passionate fans. Aged 16 months in French oak barrels, Double Diamond Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon red wine opens with layered, intriguing aromas of black currants, dark cherries, blackberry, cherry compote, toast and oak spice. The palate is rich and juicy resulting in a big, bursting flavor. The tannin structure makes this a great wine to enjoy upon release, but it will also mellow nicely for the next two to six years.
