Split bean lengthwise with sharp knife and scrape seeds into gently simmering milk or cream when making custards, dessert sauces, or ice cream. A 2-inch piece of Bourbon Vanilla Bean is equivalent to 1 teaspoon Pure Vanilla Extract.
