Product Information
Star anise is a stronger version of anise seeds. Its intense flavor complements soups, stews, and braising liquids. It pairs particularly well with soy sauce and Chinese five spice. Use to add authentic East Asian flavor to your meals. Just make sure to discard the pod after cooking. Spice Islands travels to Asia for premium Star Anise. Star Anise’s assertive licorice-like flavor is essential in many Chinese and Vietnamese dishes. Use in pho, a traditional Vietnamese soup, and in long simmering dishes. Use in whole form to infuse flavor in creams or liquids (and then remove) or crushed fine in desserts. Essential ingredient in mulled wines or ciders.
