Agave Mustard Glazed Tofu

  • 2 Tbsp. lemon juice
  • 2 Tbsp. water
  • 1 tsp. soy sauce
  • 1⁄4 cup agave nectar
  • 2 Tbsp. prepared mustard
  • 1⁄2 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1⁄2 tsp. sugar
  • 1 tsp. anise seeds
  • 1 block (10 oz.) firm or extra-firm tofu, chopped into 2-inch cubes


  • Whisk together lemon juice, water, soy sauce, agave nectar, mustard, garlic powder, sugar, and anise seeds in a shallow pan and add tofu. Marinate for at least 1 hour, flipping tofu and basting with sauce occasionally.
  • Preheat oven to 400°F.
  • Transfer tofu to a baking sheet or casserole dish, basting with extra sauce. Bake tofu for 20 minutes, turning over once and spooning extra marinade over the top.
