Almond Pound Cake

  • 1 cup butter
  • 5 large eggs
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp. almond extract


  • Preheat oven to 300°F. Butter a large Bundt pan well.
  • Cream the butter well. Add the eggs, one at a time, beating 1 minute after each. While beating continuously, gradually add the sugar, then the flour, then the almond extract.
  • Pour into the Bundt pan, and bake for 1 1⁄2 to 1 3⁄4 hours, or until a toothpick or knife inserted in the middle comes out clean. Let cool on wire rack for 10 minutes before removing from pan.
