Aloha Burger with Pineapple Chutney

With fresh pineapple tomato chutney on top, this tropical burger takes your taste buds on vacation! Throw on some shades and sip with a Sprite® Ginger to mix things up even more.

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds ground beef
  • 2 tablespoons teriyaki sauce
  • 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 teaspoons onion powder
  • 1 1⁄2 teaspoons salt
  • 2 teaspoons black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons dark brown sugar, packed
  • 1⁄4 cup Coca-Cola®
  • 1⁄4 cup balsamic vinegar
  • 1⁄2 medium red onion, diced
  • 1 small tomato, seeded and diced
  • 1 1⁄2 cups diced pineapple
  • Salt
  • Black pepper
  • 6 brioche buns or hamburger buns, toasted

Directions

  • In medium bowl, mix together ground beef, teriyaki sauce, Worcestershire sauce, onion powder, 1½ teaspoons salt and 2 teaspoons black pepper. Form into 6 patties; set aside.
  • In medium saucepan over medium-low heat, melt butter; stir in brown sugar.
  • Add Coca-Cola® and vinegar; bring to boil. Reduce heat and simmer 20 minutes, stirring frequently.
  • Stir in onion. Over medium heat, continue cooking and stirring 2 minutes. Add tomato and pineapple; stir to coat. Turn off heat. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Grill burgers over medium-high heat 6 minutes on each side, until desired doneness.
  • On toasted buns, assemble each burger. Top with spoonful of pineapple chutney.
