Serves: 12

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 1⁄2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1⁄3 cup unsalted chilled butter, cut into small pieces
  • 1 small apple, peeled, cored, and finely chopped
  • 1 cup quick-cooking rolled oats
  • 2 egg whites
  • 2 Tbsp. apple juice
  • 2 Tbsp. honey

  • Form the dough into a 7-inch round directly on the baking sheet. Using a sharp knife, cut the dough into 12 wedges.
  • Bake for 10 to 12 minutes, or until golden. Cool on a rack.
