Atole
This creamy Mexican drink is made with corn masa, milk and dark brown sugar. Serve it warm to keep your family cozy this holiday season.

Ingredients
- 1⁄2 cup instant corn masa for tortillas (note: do not use cornmeal or masa harina)
- 2 cups water, warmed
- 2 cups whole milk
- 3⁄4 cup dark brown sugar
- 4 cinnamon sticks
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
Directions
- In a bowl, use wire whisk to mix masa and water.
- In a saucepan over medium heat, cook milk, vanilla extract, sugar and masa mixture, whisking constantly, 10 minutes, until it thickens.
- Pour into cups and serve warm.
