Aussie Shrimp on the Barbie
Here’s a classic Australian marinade for smoky grilled shrimp.

Ingredients
- 1⁄2 cup mayonnaise
- 1⁄2 cup sour cream
- 2 Tbsp. chili sauce
- 1⁄4 tsp. cayenne pepper
- 1⁄4 cup melted butter
- 1⁄4 cup olive oil
- 1 Tbsp. minced parsley
- 1 tsp. minced thyme
- 1 Tbsp. minced cilantro
- 3 Tbsp. fresh lemon juice
- 3 cloves garlic, crushed
- 1 Tbsp. minced shallot
- 1⁄2 tsp. salt
- 1⁄2 tsp. ground black pepper
- 1 1⁄2 lbs. unpeeled large shrimp
Directions
- Combine mayonnaise, sour cream, chili sauce, and cayenne pepper in a small bowl. Cover and refrigerate.
- In a large bowl, combine butter, olive oil, parsley, thyme, cilantro, lemon juice, garlic, salt, and pepper. Add shrimp and toss to coat. Marinate in the refrigerator for 5 hours.
- Preheat the grill.
- Thread the shrimp onto individual skewers. Grill the shrimp for about 2 minutes per side. Serve with sauce.
