Baked Apples with Walnut Butter

This makes a nice and simple fall dessert. These also make a homey addition to the Thanksgiving dessert table.

  • 2 Tbsp. butter
  • 1⁄2 cup toasted walnut pieces
  • 2 Tbsp. brown sugar
  • 1 tsp. ground cinnamon
  • 2 tsp. bourbon
  • 2 cooking apples (such as Jonagold or Granny Smith)


  • Preheat oven to 350°F.
  • Cut the top off of the apples and core the bottom part. Mix together all the ingredients except the apples. Stuff the mixture into the cavity in the apples and place the top on the filling. Place in a baking dish and bake for about 20 minutes or until the apples are soft. Place the apples on a plate and pour all the juices in the pan over the tops.
