Baked Mac and Cheese Recipe
Baked Mac and Cheese
A family recipe for baked mac and cheese that both adults and kids will keep asking for.
Ingredients
- 1⁄2 box of pasta shells or elbow macaroni
- 2 cups of milk
- 1⁄2 stick of butter
- 1⁄4 cup of flour
- 1⁄2 tsp. of table salt
- 2 cups of shredded sharp cheddar cheese
- 1 cup of shredded mozzarella cheese
Directions
- Cook pasta a little al dente, then set aside.
- Melt butter in a sauce pan.
- Stir in flour and salt.
- Slowly pour in milk while stirring constantly until thickened.
- Once thickened and starting to bubble, stir in cheddar cheese.
- Turn off the heat and stir cheese until melted.
- Pour cheese mixture into 11x9 casserole dish, and incorporate pasta.
- Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese on top and bake covered at 350° for 25 minutes, then uncovered for another 10-15.
- Let cool and serve.
