Basic Slow-Cooker Applesauce
Apples are so versatile in the slow cooker. Use whatever type of apples you prefer for this recipe. Serve as a side dish to pork, chicken, or beef or just as a snack paired with a handful of your favorite nuts or seeds.

Ingredients
- 5 lbs. apples
- 2 Tbsp. lemon juice
Directions
- Peel, core, and roughly dice the apples. You should have about 10 cups of uncooked, diced apples.
- Place the apples and lemon juice in a greased 2.5-quart or 4-quart slow cooker. Cook on high for 4 hours or on low for 7–8 hours. The apples are done when they are easily mashed with a fork.
- Mash the cooked apples in the slow cooker until they are a chunky consistency. Cool for 30 minutes and then refrigerate in an airtight container.
