Better-than-Fast-Food Burger

This giant hamburger will please the biggest burger fan.

  • 1⁄2 lb. ground beef
  • 1⁄2 tsp. salt
  • 1⁄2 tsp. ground black pepper
  • 1 large hamburger roll
  • 3 tsp. mayonnaise
  • 2 tsp. ketchup
  • 1 tsp. mustard
  • 1 leaf iceberg lettuce
  • 2 slices of tomatoes
  • 3 dill pickle slices
  • 4 red onion rings
  • 1 slice American cheese


  • Preheat barbecue or indoor grill to medium heat.
  • Form the ground beef into a patty that is slightly larger than the bun. Season each side of the patty with salt and pepper. Grill the burger on the grill 4 minutes per side.
  • Brown inside of the roll in a hot skillet over medium heat. Spread mayonnaise on the top and bottom of the roll. Spread ketchup and mustard on the top half. Arrange lettuce, tomato, pickle slices and onion on the bottom half. Place the cooked burger on the roll and top with cheese.
