Blackberry and Apple Preserves

Enjoy this not-so-traditional combination of two widely enjoyed and versatile fruits.

  • 2 lbs. cooking apples, peeled, cored, and chopped
  • 3 cups honey
  • 1¾ cups blackberries
  • 2 Tbsp. lemon juice
  • 1 Tbsp. grated lemon zest


  • Place all the ingredients in a 6-quart slow cooker, cover, and cook on high for 5 hours, stirring periodically.
  • Pour jam into warmed canning jars and allow to cool. Cover and store in refrigerator for up to 2 months.
