Brazilian-Style Hot Chocolate (Chocolate Quente Cremoso)
Brazilian hot chocolate tends to be extra creamy and thick with a touch of cinnamon, the perfect vehicle for dipping churros (doughnut sticks).

- 2 cups milk
- 4 Tbsp. sugar
- 3 Tbsp. cocoa powder
- 1 Tbsp. cornstarch
- 1⁄4 tsp. salt
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 1⁄2 cup heavy cream
- 1⁄2 tsp. vanilla
- 1⁄4 cup whipped cream
- Place the milk, sugar, cocoa powder, cornstarch, and salt in a blender, and process until smooth.
- Pour the mixture into a small saucepan. Add the cinnamon stick and heat mixture over medium-low heat, stirring constantly, until it comes to a simmer and thickens.
- Remove from heat and discard cinnamon stick. Stir in the cream and the vanilla until smooth.
- Serve warm, with a dollop of whipped cream.
