Breakfast Pork Sausage
These fresh breakfast sausages are far better than any of the store-bought varieties. But just as conveniently, you can make a batch and freeze them for use on another day.

Ingredients
- 2 lbs. ground pork
- 2 Tbsp. dried sage
- 2 tsp. onion powder
- 1 Tbsp. brown sugar
- 1⁄8 tsp ground cloves
- 1⁄4 tsp cayenne pepper
- 2 tsp. minced parsley
- 1⁄4 tsp salt
- 1⁄4 tsp. ground black pepper
- 1 Tbsp. olive oil
Directions
- Mix together all the ingredients except the oil in a chilled bowl with chilled utensils. Form the mixture into patties.
- Heat oil to medium temperature in a large sauté pan. Add the sausage, cover, and cook for about 30 minutes, turning at 5-minute intervals. Uncover and cook for 10 minutes, until thoroughly browned.
