Broiled Baby Chicken Drumsticks with Asian Flavors and Sesame

Up the number of servings for a quick supper. These are great hot or cold, so pack them for a school lunch, a family picnic, or just a good snack with mango salsa or chutney.

  • 2 oz. toasted sesame oil
  • 1 Tbsp. fresh lime juice
  • 3 oz. soy sauce
  • 1 tsp. cayenne pepper
  • 2 Tbsp. cider vinegar
  • 1 tsp. Splenda
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 piece (1 inch) fresh gingerroot, peeled and minced
  • 24 chicken drumsticks


  • Whisk the first 8 ingredients together in a large nonreactive bowl. Add the chicken legs and turn to coat. Marinate for at least 1 hour.
  • Preheat the broiler. Line a broiler pan with foil.
  • Drain the chicken and discard the marinade. Place drumsticks on prepared pan. Broil the drumsticks, turning frequently, about 4 minutes per side.
