Caramel Cocoa Sauce
What dessert doesn’t taste better with a chocolate sauce?
Serves: 16Hands-on: 25 minutesTotal: 25 minutesDifficulty: Easy
- 1 cup sugar
- ¼ cup water
- 1½ cans (12 oz.) evaporated milk
- ⅓ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 3 Tbsp. hot water
- ⅓ cup unsalted butter
- In a saucepan, cook the sugar with ¼ cup water over high heat, stir to dissolve the sugar, and boil uninterrupted until the syrup turns lightly golden, about 15 minutes. Turn the heat to low.
- Add evaporated milk and cocoa powder dissolved in 3 tablespoons hot water. Stir constantly until thick. You don’t need to see the bottom of the pan, unless you want to make fudge (this sauce should be thinner than fudge). Turn off the heat and add the butter. Cool to room temperature and serve.
