Cherry Sugar Plums

These sweet, fruity, nutty treats are easy, economical, and a hit at cookie swaps and holiday parties. Substitute grenadine for water in this recipe for an extra cherry kick.

Ingredients

  • 1 box (18 oz.) cherry cake mix
  • 2 eggs
  • ½ cup butter
  • 1 Tbsp. water
  • ¼ cup walnuts, chopped
  • ¼ cup confectioners’ sugar

Directions

  • Combine all ingredients except confectioners’ sugar in a bowl. Spoon into 1" balls. Chill in the refrigerator for 2 hours. Preheat oven to 375ºF.
  • Remove cookies from fridge. Place confectioners’ sugar in a paper bag and add cookies. Shake very gently to coat. Place onto an ungreased cookie sheet by spoonfuls. Bake for 12 minutes. Cool on rack.
