Chestnut Purée

This is a wonderful accompaniment to holiday meats like turkey, game hens, or duck. If you use chestnuts from a can or a jar, you will save a great deal of time.

  • 8 oz. shelled chestnuts
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • ½ tsp. ground black pepper
  • ⅛ tsp. ground nutmeg
  • ½ cup light cream


  • Purée all the ingredients in a blender or food processor. Warm over low heat and serve.
