This is a wonderful accompaniment to holiday meats like turkey, game hens, or duck. If you use chestnuts from a can or a jar, you will save a great deal of time.

- 8 oz. shelled chestnuts
- 1 tsp. salt
- ½ tsp. ground black pepper
- ⅛ tsp. ground nutmeg
- ½ cup light cream
- Purée all the ingredients in a blender or food processor. Warm over low heat and serve.
