Chinese Shrimp Balls

These Chinese favorites make the perfect party apps. Serve with your favorite dipping sauce for an easy snack or appetizer!

Ingredients

  • 1 lb. raw shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 Tbsp. dry sherry
  • 2 tsp. gluten-free soy sauce
  • 1 tsp. sugar
  • 1 Tbsp. cornstarch
  • 1 cup lean ground pork
  • 2 scallions, chopped
  • 3 cups vegetable oil

Directions

  • Place all ingredients, except the vegetable oil, in a food processor. Pulse until thoroughly mixed, scraping the sides often.
  • Heat the oil to 360°F. Carefully place the shrimp mixture by the teaspoonful into the oil. When golden, after about 3–4 minutes, place the balls on a serving platter lined with paper towels or napkins to drain. Serve and enjoy.
