Chocolate Buttercream Frosting

This recipe for buttercream frosting rivals even bakery-style chocolate frosting thanks to the wonderful sweetness and flavor of pure coconut sugar.

Makes: 2½ cups
- 2⅔ cups coconut sugar
- 1½ Tbsp. cornstarch
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1⅔ cups cocoa
- ⅛ tsp. sea salt
- 2 tsp. vanilla extract
- 6 Tbsp. heavy cream
- In a blender, blend coconut sugar and cornstarch for a few minutes, scraping the bowl occasionally, until it turns into a fine powder.
- In a large bowl, using a hand-held mixer, cream together the powdered sugar mix and the butter. Add in cocoa, salt, and vanilla.
- Slowly add the heavy cream and whip until desired consistency is reached.
