Classic Eggnog

Nothing says Christmas like a frothy glass of eggnog, but this delicious drink can (and should) be enjoyed year round! Serve it as a quick breakfast on a busy morning or as a luxurious beverage at your next brunch. Add 3 to 4 ounces bourbon for a festive holiday drink.

Serves: 6

  • 8 large eggs
  • 1⁄3 cup pure maple syrup
  • 4 tsp. pure vanilla extract
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1⁄2 tsp. ground nutmeg
  • 1⁄2 tsp. ground cinnamon
  • 2 Tbsp. granulated sugar

  • Separate the egg yolks from the whites. Set the whites aside and place the yolks in a blender.
  • Add the syrup, vanilla, milk, cream, nutmeg, and cinnamon to the blender. Process until smooth. You can serve it at this point, or continue to the next step for a lighter, frothy eggnog.
  • In a mixing bowl, beat the egg whites until soft peaks form, then add the sugar and beat until stiff peaks form. Gently fold the egg whites into the eggnog with a rubber spatula. Chill until ready to serve.
