Classic Lemonade

The secret to good lemonade lies in using boiling water, so that the sugar fully dissolves. While freshly squeezed lemons will give a more intense flavor, you can use bottled lemon juice if desired.

  • 2 cups water
  • 1 cup sugar
  • ½ cup lemon juice


  • In a medium saucepan, bring the water and sugar to a boil, stirring to dissolve the sugar. Stir in the lemon juice.
  • Chill 2 hours in the refrigerator before serving.
