Classic Pecan Pie

  • 3 large eggs
  • 2⁄3 cup sugar
  • 1⁄8 tsp. salt
  • 1 cup dark corn syrup
  • 1⁄3 cup butter, melted
  • 1 cup pecan halves
  • 1 unbaked pastry shell (9 inches)


  • Preheat oven to 350°F.
  • In a bowl, combine the eggs, sugar, salt, corn syrup, and melted butter. Beat thoroughly. Stir in the pecans. Pour into the pastry shell.
  • Bake for 50 minutes, or until a knife inserted halfway between the edge and the center of the filling comes out clean. Let cool completely on a rack before serving.
