Coffee Caramel Sauce
If you prefer plain caramel sauce, you can substitute heavy cream for the brewed coffee.

- 1½ cups sugar
- ½ cup brewed coffee
- ½ cup heavy cream
- Dissolve the sugar in ½ cup water in a sauce pan.
- Heat the sugar mixture over high heat until it caramelizes.
- Carefully pour in the coffee and cream over medium-low heat. Cook and stir until slightly thickened, then remove from heat and cool. Sauce will thicken more as it cools.
