Coffee Caramel Sauce

If you prefer plain caramel sauce, you can substitute heavy cream for the brewed coffee.

  • 1½ cups sugar
  • ½ cup brewed coffee
  • ½ cup heavy cream


  • Dissolve the sugar in ½ cup water in a sauce pan.
  • Heat the sugar mixture over high heat until it caramelizes.
  • Carefully pour in the coffee and cream over medium-low heat. Cook and stir until slightly thickened, then remove from heat and cool. Sauce will thicken more as it cools.
