Cranberry-Walnut Sauce for Turkey

- 2 cups fresh cranberries
- 1 cup claret wine
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 10 peppercorns, cracked
- ⅛ tsp. salt
- 1 cup chopped walnuts, toasted
- 1 Tbsp. grated orange zest
- Place cranberries, claret, sugar, cinnamon stick, peppercorns, and salt in a saucepan and bring to a boil over high heat. The cranberries will pop, so cover the pot. Reduce heat to medium-low and cook until thickened, about 10 minutes. Remove cinnamon stick.
- Add the nuts and orange zest and stir gently. Serve.
