Creamy Puréed Chestnuts for Game
This is the perfect side for any type of wild game. It's also excellent with chicken and turkey, duck and goose. It’s a real holiday treat!

- 1 lb. chestnuts
- ½ cup chicken broth
- 1 Tbsp. butter
- ½ cup heavy cream
- 1 tsp. salt
- ½ tsp. ground black pepper
- ⅛ tsp. ground nutmeg
- Make X-shaped slits in the flat sides of the chestnuts.
- Set the grill on high.
- Grill the chestnuts until they pop open. Then cool and remove both shells and skins.
- Place chestnuts in a blender with the rest of the ingredients at medium speed until puréed.
