Crostini is a versatile appetizer that is easy to make. Top it with cheese, prosciutto, roasted red peppers, hummus or any dip. It’s also nice served alongside a green salad or soup.

- 1 loaf French bread
- 4 Tbsp. olive oil
- 4 Tbsp. butter
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- ½ tsp. salt
- ⅛ tsp. ground black pepper
- Preheat oven to 325°F. Slice the bread into ¼" slices and set on a baking sheet.
- In small saucepan, combine olive oil, butter, and garlic. Cook and stir over medium-low heat until garlic is fragrant but not burned, about 3 minutes. Remove from heat. Using a pastry brush, brush the olive oil mixture on both sides of the bread.
- Bake for 10 minutes, then turn all the bread slices and bake for 10–15 minutes longer until bread is light golden brown and very crisp. Store covered at room temperature for up to a week.
