Dairy-Free Slow Cooker Chai Tea

Chai is a traditional Indian drink made with black tea that has been brewed with milk, ginger, and spices.

  • 8 bags black tea
  • 6 cups water
  • 1 cup soy milk
  • 6 cinnamon sticks
  • 8 whole cloves
  • 16 cardamom pods
  • 17 black peppercorns
  • 8 thin slices fresh ginger with skin
  • 3 Tbsp. sugar


  • Place the tea bags, water, soy milk, cinnamon, cloves, cardamom, peppercorns, and ginger in a 4-quart slow cooker. Cover and cook on low heat for 2 hours.
  • Pour the tea through a strainer and serve warm with a teaspoon of sugar in each cup.
