Devil's Food Chocolate Cupcakes
The chocolate cupcake is the little black dress of the dessert world. Consider topping these cupcakes with whipped cream and chocolate shavings. You’ll need to refrigerate them and serve shortly after frosting, but nothing beats the taste.

- 1 box (18.25 oz.) chocolate or devil’s food cake mix
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1 1⁄2 cups water
- 1 egg
- Preheat oven to 350°F. Line a muffin tin with paper baking cups.
- Combine all ingredients in a large bowl, using an electric mixer to beat until a smooth batter forms. Turn batter into baking cups, filling each paper cup 1⁄2 full.
- Bake according to cake mix instructions. Frost with whipped topping or prepared frosting.
