Freezer Chocolate Banana Bread

Heat up a slice of bread and spread on a little butter for a delicious treat. Try substituting the chocolate chips with chopped strawberries or apples.

  • 1 3⁄4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1⁄4 tsp. baking soda
  • 1⁄2 tsp. salt
  • 1⁄2 cup butter, softened
  • 2⁄3 cup sugar
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 1 1⁄2 cups mashed bananas
  • 1⁄2 cup chocolate chips
  • 1⁄2 cup chopped walnuts


  • In a small mixing bowl, mix flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. In large mixing bowl, mix the butter, sugar, and eggs. Alternate adding the flour mixture and bananas to the large mixing bowl, a little at a time. Mix just enough to combine—do not over mix. Fold in chocolate chips and walnuts.
  • Pour into greased loaf pan and bake at 350°F for 1 hour. A knife inserted into the center should come out clean. Cool and freeze.
  • Serve defrosted.
