Frozen Cookie Dough

Make a double batch of this dough and use it to make lots of cookies, anytime you want. For peanut butter cookie dough, substitute 1⁄2 cup peanut butter for 1⁄2 cup of the butter; use all brown sugar. For chocolate chip cookie dough, add 2 cups chocolate chips. For chocolate cookie dough, add 1⁄2 cup cocoa powder with the flour.

  • 1 cup butter
  • 1⁄2 cup sugar
  • 1⁄2 cup brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 3 Tbsp. heavy cream
  • 2 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 1⁄2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 1⁄2 tsp. baking soda
  • 1⁄4 tsp. salt


  • In large bowl, beat butter until soft. Add sugar and brown sugar and beat until smooth. Add eggs, cream, and vanilla and beat again.
  • Add flour, baking powder, soda, and salt, and mix well. Form into 2 rolls on waxed paper, each 2 inches wide and about 9 inches long. Roll up, place in freezer bags, and freeze.
  • Each roll can be used for a roll of refrigerated cookie dough. Slice into 1⁄2-inch rounds and bake at 350°F for 8 to 11 minutes until done.
