Fruit Cocktail Smoothie

The trick to rich-tasting low-fat smoothies is not to use crushed ice. Use frozen fruit instead; it will thicken without diluting the flavor.

  • 1 can (8 oz.) fruit cocktail, chilled
  • 1 cup skim milk
  • 1⁄4 cup nonfat dry milk powder
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 1⁄8 tsp. ground cinnamon
  • 1 medium frozen banana, peeled and chopped


  • In a blender container or food processor, combine all ingredients. Blend or process until smooth, then serve immediately.
