German Chocolate Cake Cookies

This lighter-tasting chocolate cookie provides that little taste of chocolate you’re looking for without the heavy sugar or high caffeine.

  • 1 box (18.25 oz.) box German chocolate cake mix
  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup oatmeal
  • 1⁄2 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 eggs, slightly beaten
  • 1⁄2 cup raisins
  • 1 tsp. vanilla


  • Preheat oven to 350°F.
  • Combine all ingredients. Mix well using electric mixer set to low speed. If floury crumbs develop, add a dribble of water.
  • Drop dough by spoonfuls onto an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake for 10 minutes. Cool completely before lifting cookies off sheet and onto a serving dish.
