Gluten-Free Orange Sour Cream French Toast
This is French toast with the refreshing tang of citrus.

- 6 large eggs
- ½ cup sour cream
- ½ cup whole milk
- ½ tsp. orange zest
- 1 Tbsp. granulated sugar
- 1 tsp. pure vanilla extract
- ½ tsp. salt
- 1 loaf day-old gluten-free white sandwich bread such as Udi’s Gluten Free Bread
- 2 Tbsp. butter
- In a shallow baking dish or pie plate, whisk together the eggs, sour cream, milk, orange zest, sugar, vanilla, and salt. Place a few slices of the bread in the mixture, turn over, and allow to soak in the liquid for 2–3 minutes.
- Heat butter in a skillet over medium-high heat. Working in batches, place each piece of soaked bread in the skillet and cook on each side until golden brown, about 2–3 minutes per side. Keep warm in a 200°F oven until ready to serve.
