Green Beans with Brown Butter Hazelnuts
Hazelnuts are a natural pairing for brown butter, but any nut will work here.
Serves: 8Hands-on: 15 minutesTotal: 20 minutesDifficulty: Easy
- 2 lbs. fresh green beans, trimmed
- 8 Tbsp. butter
- 1 cup chopped hazelnuts
- ½ tsp. salt
- ¼ tsp. ground black pepper
- Bring a large pot of water to boiling over high heat. Add the green beans and cook for 6 minutes, or until tender but firm. Transfer to a large bowl of ice water to stop the beans from cooking.
- Melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the hazelnuts and sauté, stirring constantly, until the hazelnuts are toasted and the butter is beginning to brown. Add the green beans, salt, and pepper and toss. Sauté until heated through, about 2 minutes. Serve hot.
