Asparagus is low in calories and sodium, and offers numerous vitamins and minerals, most notably folate and potassium. The stalks also offer a blast of inflammation-fighting antioxidants. Use thicker asparagus to withstand the heat of the grill. Be sure to remove the woody end of the stalks first.

- 2 bunches asparagus, trimmed
- 1 Tbsp. extra-virgin olive oil
- 1 tsp. lemon juice
- 1⁄8 tsp. ground black pepper
- Preheat grill to medium. Toss the asparagus in the oil, then drain on a rack and season with lemon juice and pepper. Grill the asparagus for 1 to 2 minutes on each side. Serve immediately.
