Grilled Bananas with Ice Cream

If banana splits were part of your youth, you’ll love this recipe. These could be called “fairly grown-up sundaes.”

  • 4 large bananas
  • 4 cups vanilla ice cream
  • 1⁄2 cup sliced almonds, toasted
  • Zest of 1 medium lime


  • Set grill to low.
  • Peel the bananas, split them in half lengthwise, and place them on the grill. Grill for a minute on each side.
  • Place ice cream in 4 shallow bowls. Place 2 halves on top of each bowl of ice cream and top with almonds and lime zest.
