Grilled Sesame Beef
Few flavors go together as well as sesame and soy. Here they are delicious with beef.

- ¼ tsp. ground ginger
- ½ cup soy sauce
- 2 Tbsp. brown sugar
- 10 oz. flank steak
- 1 Tbsp. sesame oil
- 3 Tbsp. sesame seeds
- For the marinade, grate the ginger finely until you have 2 teaspoons. Combine with the soy sauce and brown sugar. Place beef in a shallow glass dish. Refrigerate and marinate the meat for at least 1 hour. Reserve any excess marinade and place the meat on a serving platter.
- Toast the sesame seeds by spreading out on a frying pan and cooking at low heat until they brown. Cool.
- Heat a grill. Cook the steak over indirect hot coals for 4 minutes on each side (for medium). Remove to a platter and allow to rest of five minutes. Heat reserved marinade in a small pot until it comes to a boil.
- After allowing the meat to rest, slice it against the grain, drizzle with boiled marinade and sprinkle with sesame seeds.
