Half-Frozen Mocha Mousse
Mocha, the combination of coffee and chocolate, is said to be an aphrodisiac. And when it’s frozen enough to be icy cold and very dark, it could evoke Eros.

- 2 Tbsp. espresso powder
- 4 Tbsp. Dutch cocoa powder
- ⅓ cup ice water
- ⅔ cup sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- ½ tsp. salt
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup whipped cream
- ½ cup shaved chocolate
- Blend the espresso powder, cocoa powder, and water together until smooth. Add sugar, vanilla, and salt.
- Whip the cream and fold the cocoa mixture into it, mixing gently but thoroughly.
- Place in a bowl in the freezer for 1 hour, stirring occasionally; do not freeze hard. Serve in glasses with whipped cream and shaved chocolate sprinkled over the top.
