Ice Cream Scones

This improbable recipe is surprisingly delicious. Personalize the scone by adding frozen berries, nuts, zest, dried fruit, or chocolate chips.

- 3 cups self-rising flour
- 2½ cups melted vanilla ice cream
- ¼ cup granulated sugar
- Preheat oven to 375°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment. Sift self-rising flour into a large bowl and make a well in the center. Add melted ice cream and stir until just combined.
- Turn the dough onto a lightly floured work surface and fold it 7 or 8 times, until it holds together. (This is not kneading.) Flatten the dough into a disk 1" thick. Cut the disk into 8 wedges and place wedges on the prepared pan, evenly spaced.
- Sprinkle the top of scones generously with sugar, then bake until golden brown, about 15 minutes.
