Instant Salt-Free Pasta Sauce

A terrific recipe for times when you run short of sauce. This recipe makes 24 ounces, equivalent to many commercial jars. All you need are canned, no-salt-added tomatoes.

  • 1 can (28 oz.) no-salt-added crushed, diced, or whole tomatoes
  • 2 tsp. sugar
  • 1 Tbsp. onion powder
  • 1 1⁄2 tsp. dried Italian seasoning
  • 1 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1⁄2 tsp. freshly ground black pepper


  • Combine all the ingredients in food processor and purée. Warm in a saucepan or store sauce in a clean lidded jar and refrigerate.
