The tart lingonberry grows on low-growing evergreen bushes in northern climates. In addition to making tasty jam, lingonberries can also be used to make a refreshing drink. Add chilled plain or sparkling water and serve over ice.

- 6½ lbs. fresh or frozen lingonberries
- 1½ quarts water
- 1½ Tbsp. lemon juice
- 3 cups sugar
- Wash and pick through the lingonberries, discarding any bad ones.
- Place lingonberries in a large pitcher and crush with a potato masher to release juices. Stir in water and lemon juice, cover, and chill in the refrigerator for 2 days, stirring every 12 hours.
- Strain the lingonberry mixture, then stir in sugar in 1-cup increments.
