Masala Chai
Masala chai is a sweet, milky, spiced black tea drink popular throughout India and in Indian restaurants around this country. It's easy to make at home once you have the various Indian spices.

Ingredients
- 2 cardamom pods
- 3 whole cloves
- 1 1⁄2 cups water
- 1 1⁄2 cups light cream
- 1 Tbsp. granulated sugar
- 1⁄4 tsp. ground ginger
- 1 cinnamon stick, broken into pieces
- 2 bags Earl Grey black tea
Directions
- Crush the cardamom and cloves with a mortar and pestle, or by rolling over them with a rolling pin.
- In a medium saucepan, bring the water and cream to a boil. Add the sugar, stirring to dissolve. Add the crushed spices, ginger, and cinnamon. Bring back to a boil. Add the teabags, then remove the pan from the heat and let stand for 5 minutes. Strain and serve.
