  • ¼ tsp. white wine vinegar
  • ½ tsp. lemon juice
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1 cup vegetable oil
  • ⅛ tsp. cayenne pepper
  • ¼ tsp. salt
  • ⅛ tsp. ground black pepper


  • In a bowl, whisk vinegar and lemon juice into the egg yolk. Whisk oil into egg yolk mixture drop by drop at first, and then in a slow, steady stream until all has been incorporated.
  • Season with cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper.
