Nut-Free Fruit Crisp

This recipe can also be made with peaches or fresh blueberries. Top with whipped cream or ice cream if desired.

  • 3⁄4 cup brown sugar
  • 1⁄2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1⁄4 cup rolled oats
  • 1⁄2 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1⁄3 cup butter
  • 4 cups peeled and sliced cooking apples
  • 1 Tbsp. lemon juice
  • 1 Tbsp. water


  • Preheat oven to 375°F. Combine brown sugar, flour, oats, and cinnamon in a medium bowl. Using a pastry cutter or 2 knives, cut butter into dry ingredients. Set aside
  • Place apples in a 9-inch square pan and sprinkle with the lemon juice and water. Sprinkle the topping evenly over the fruit. Bake about 45 minutes. Serve warm or cold.
