Nuts for Chocolate Smoothie

Even some of the most dedicated vegans have a soft spot for chocolate. This recipe allows you to create your own thrifty, quick, and easy chocolate smoothies at home.

  • ¼ cup almonds
  • 1 cup vanilla almond milk
  • 2 Tbsp. cocoa powder
  • 1 cup chopped romaine lettuce
  • 1 medium banana, peeled
  • 1 Tbsp. agave nectar


  • Combine almonds and ½ cup almond milk in a blender and blend until almonds are completely emulsified.
  • Add cocoa, followed by the lettuce, banana, nectar, and remaining almond milk while blending until desired texture is achieved.
